Q: What size do you recommend for my 14 lb Pomeranian. Neck size 12inches 19 in Chest.? Will recommend size fit loose around her neck? Thank you.

Asked by: Victoria - 10/26/2017
A: Hi Victoria,

With the measurements given I would recommend size 22 for this Harness. The harness will lay farther down on the neck for a better fit.

Q: How is the sizing on this harness? A dog with a 21" girth, 14" neck would be ok with the 22" size?

Asked by: Agneta - 8/23/2017
A: Thank you for your interest in the New Casual Y-Harness. Yes the size 22" will fit just fine as long as the Girth was Measured with a finger under the measuring tape around the chest.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Q: Is the bottom strap stitched in place to the bottom of the chest strap? It looks like it is but I wanted to make sure as we have a previous harness that isn't and it always shifts to the side making it uncomfortable.

Asked by: Emily - 7/9/2018
A: Hi Emily,

The Casual Y Harness does have a sewn in bottom chest strap now. It is also adjustable on both sides.

Thanks,
Anna

Q: My dachshund measures 13 inches for neck, and 17 inches around the chest. Is the 18 harness the correct size? Thank you!

Asked by: Deborab - 2/6/2019
A: Hi, Debora

Size 18 goes from 14" to 18" so that is the one that would fit your dog.

Q: I got a harness before that was a 22" because of getting it over my corgis head. The girth is just about sized in the mid range. What size would I get in this harness? Thanks!

Asked by: shelley edwards - 9/27/2017
A: Hi Shelley
The Casual Y-Harness is shaped the same as the 'New' Y-Harness model that you have in size 22" so you'll need the same size.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: I want to get a y harness for my 46# border collie/australian cattle dog/misc mix but am confused by the sizing. The widest part of his chest measures 27-28" and the base of his neck measures 15-16". According to the sizing chart, those measurements don't go together. Any suggestions?

Q: I guess I do have another question! (I just submitted one about sizing of the y harness) I am interested in this harness because the huerta website said it was good for dogs with back and neck issues, and I see you mention the 'new' version of the y harness is called the h harness. Is it the same as far as being good for dogs with neck and back issues? Any other harnesses you'd recommend? Thanks!

Asked by: Anita - 1/21/2020
A: Hi, Anita

Thank you for your interest in the Hurtta Harnesses.

The chest measurement is by far the most important one, if the neck of the harness is a little too big, it's not that big of a deal, it just can't be too small, so I'd go with a size 32" if you do chose the y-harness.

The Adventure and the Weekend Warrior harnesses are also good alternatives and are good for dogs with back and neck issues, they might even be a little better since there is more support with the wider chest plates. In those id' go for a size 24"-32". the neckline is also more adjustable in both of those.

Thank you, Mia

Q: Hi there ~ I ordered two Hurrta 'life saver' harnesses a few years back. They are still going strong but I'd like to have some back up harnesses. Looking @ my previous order for the harnesses, they were 18". With this particular harness, there is one that ends @ 18" & the other begins with 18" I don't know which one to order :( I take it these will be alright for my small dogs who are 10-14 #'s Please advise @ your earliest convenience Thanks so much ~ Jeanne

Asked by: Jeanne - 1/30/2020
A: Hi, Jeanne

Thank you for your interest in the Y-Harness.

I'd go with the 18"-22" option, that way you it won't be too tight. It's always a good idea to go up a size rather than down.

We have 1 of each of the Ash (grey) and Heather (purple), none of the Lingon (red) and Raven (black) and 2 of the River (blue) left in that size.

Thank you, Mia

Q: Do you offer embroidery on the y harness, such as dog name or phone number?

Asked by: Larry hagel - 2/24/2020
A: Hi, Larry

We do not offer any embroidery on any of our products, no, but you could try and take it to someone who does that sort of work and see if they can do it.

Thank you, Mia

Q: What is the difference between the "casual" Y harness and the regular Y harness? Thanks!

Asked by: Melissa - 3/10/2020
A: Hi, Melissa

Thank you for your interest in the Casual Y-harness.

The harness is a little more simple in the color design then the regular Y-Harness. The straps are also a little narrower on the Casual Y-harness.

Q: Hi I have a saluki mix , her chest measurement is 93 am, would this harness be good for him? He's got a deep but super narrow chest. Thank you, anna

Asked by: Anna Kovalenko - 4/19/2020
A: Hi, Anna

Thank you for your interest in the Y-harness.

Yes, this is the perfect harness for a dog with a narrow chest since the chest strap is not very wide. As you can see from the pictures, the dogs wearing the harness is also fairly deep chested, so that is not a problem either.

Thank you, Mia
