Q: Will there be sizes small enough for a Chihuahua in the future?

Asked by: Elisabeth Tarttier-Hotter - 2/22/2017
A: Hi,

At this time the smallest size in our Colorado Fleece and Equafleece Dog Jumper Sweater is size 14. I can see if we can special order anything smaller if needed but the cost will be more. Please let me know if this is something you want to request.

i just want to check also to see if when you measured your dog from the front breastbone along the side to the start of the tail what size did the measurement come out to? The Colorado and Equafleece are sized differently than the Hurtta products.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Q: Hi Katja, You recommended a size 28 for my boy, but I was wondering if this fleece has enough room around the neck. Cole has a big chest and thick neck. Do you think this sweater will feel restricting around the neck and chest area? Thank you always for your help!! :) Lisa

Asked by: Lisa - 10/17/2018
A: Hi Lisa,

The fleeces fit most dogs without restrictions, but if Cole is a stocky deep chested dog it may be a little snug in those areas.
I measured the chest and neck area in a size 28" to be sure.
The chest is not quite 28" around and the neck is 16" around.

Thank you,
Courtney

Q: Size for an adult male Saluki?

Asked by: Katherina Dueck - 10/31/2019
A: Hi, Katherina

Thank you for your interest in the Colorado Sweater.

The size depends on the measurements of the dog, but you can se a size chart under the Ohio Fleece Suit here:

https://www.eurodogdesigns.com/Ohio-Fleece-Dog-Suit

You are also welcome to write to us again when you have measured your dog. Remember to measure from the breastbone along the side to the tail to get the length of the dog. There is also a video of how to measure, you can find it by pressing the Play button under the pictures.

Q: Do you have an image that provides more detailed instructions on how to measure a dog for sweater sizing. The written instructions aren’t sufficiently clear and could lead to error. Thanks in advance, Abra

Asked by: Abra - 11/11/2019
A: Hi, Abra

Under the picture on the product page for the Wisconsin Fleece sweater:

https://www.eurodogdesigns.com/Wisconsin-fleece-warmer#

is a play button, that is a video that shows how to measure and how to put the sweater on your dog :)

Q: There isn't a size for my Aussie, Casey, in the Ohio suit. If I order the Colorado instead would a size 31 fit him in the chest which measures 32inches or would I be safer ordering a size 34?

Asked by: Ami Kennedy - 11/14/2019
A: Hi Ami
If it's for the same Aussie as you've had all along, we should have no problem finding a size in the Ohio Suit. My Doberman wears size 28" in the Ohio and 31" in the Colorado. If you measure him from the breastbone in front, along the side to the base of the tail (as shown in the video) and pick the size that corresponds with that. We also have the Ohio in size 31".

Q: I have a 125 lb fe doberman 26 inch length and 40 inches around chest measurement what size do I need

Asked by: Peggy - 11/25/2019
A: Hi, Peggy

Are you sure you have measured correctly? That sounds like a very large chest. Our fleece products are also measured differently than our other products, as in you have to measure the length from the breastbone in front, along the side and to the base of the tail.

You can see how to measure in the video on the product page, it is the "play" sign just under the main picture.

Q: Hi! I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback who is quite tall and long, but not as deep-chested as many Ridgebacks. I'm interested in the EDD Colorado Fleece Sweater but not sure how to size it as I don't want it to be too baggy on him. His measurements are as follows: (topline) base of neck to base of tail: 25"; chest girth: 35"; neck circumference: 22"; and side body length from chest to rear is 29/30". Can you tell me what size would work best for him? Thank you!

Asked by: Natalya - 12/17/2019
A: Hi, Natalya

I think he might fit into a size 34", my fear is that it will be too long and he will pee on it.

If you have measured from the breastbone in front, along the side and to the base of the tail and he is "only" 30, it could be a problem.

The size 31" is too tight in the chest, so that's not good either.

If you try and remeasure and find out that he is longer than you thought, 34" will be the one to get.

Thank you, Mia

Asked by: Lisa - 12/21/2019
A: Hi Lisa.
Yes, size 26" should be fine. My Doberman wears size 28" and her chest is 32".

Q: I recently returned an item - have you received it yet? I'm wondering if EDD Colorado Fleece Sweater size 34 would work instead? The one I sent back was a 31 and way to tight/small. My boy's girth is 32". Thx, Karin

Asked by: Karin Kaplan - 12/29/2019
A: Hi, Karin

Yes, we have received it, and I issued a refund on December 27th.

I think the size 34" might work, but be aware that if it's too long he might pee on it.

The size 34" is sold out in black, red and blue, but we do have it in pink, orange, purple and grey.

Thank you, Mia

Q: i have a 45-50lb springer that loves to run in the mountains. I like the full dakota and the colorado fleece jackets. he gets snow balls in-between his front legs/chest area and also back legs. I read a review that snow goes up the legs..is that true? i need a couple of jackets for him and really like your styles. Ideally a taller collar..my dog rolls EVERYTIME we hike..YUCKIER the better.

Asked by: jamie - 12/30/2019
A: Hi Jamie.
I think is very much depends on the shape and size of the dog, if snow goes up the legs. I have not had it happen on any of my dogs, and it is not a feedback we get. They will for sure help you issue and if nothing else be better than not wearing anything. Both provide warmth, and the Dakota Suit is also waterproof. We also have the Ohio Fleece Suit that has four legs, rather than the two on the Colorado Fleece Sweater.
https://www.eurodogdesigns.com/Ohio-Fleece-Dog-Suit
If you just need a waterproof shell, then the Hurtta Downpour Suit is an option:

Yes, sadly there can be delays on all shipments everywhere due to the Covid-19 virus. It's not all the time and all shipments, but fairly frequent none the less.

Q: I have an 8 month old Doberman he measures 33-34-inch from breastbone to tail. His chest is 32 inches. What size do I get him? I wanted the NY hoodie.

Asked by: donna - 9/27/2020
A: Hi Donna.
The biggest size we have in the NY Hoodie is 28" which will be too small for your boy. We have the Colorado Fleece Sweater in size 34" which is the size he'd need.

Q: Hi, what size would you recommend for my 75lb female Euro Doberman? Her chest is quite deep at 35 inches (yes I measured twice). Thank you!

Asked by: Jennifer Nara - 9/29/2020
A: Hi Jennifer.
Based on the information given I would recommend size 34”, but it would be good if you measure the length of your dog from breastbone in front, along the side to the base of the tail.
It should be around 34”.
Thank you, Katja

Q: Have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and you say your product should fit? I have measured both and compared your sizing chart and your largest is not large enough? In inches 17 neck 34 length 34 chest the other is a bit smaller. Any suggestions???.

Asked by: Donna - 11/1/2020
A: Hi Donna.
Based on your information size 34” should fit both your dogs. Size 34” should accommodate a 34” chest, no problem.

Q: Hello. I purchased your Colorado Fleece foemr my Doberman last year, but he has filled out and it is too tight. The inside tag says 28 and it's about 4" away from the beginning of his tail, and 2.5 to 3" away from his privates. It's clearly too tight and is binding. His measurements are: 26" length, 32.5" around deepest part if his chest, and 16" around his neck. Can you please tell me what the best size would be for him now? I will order a new one on your website.

Asked by: Karen Kryst - 11/11/2020
A: Hi Karen.
You probably need size 31” for your boy. I think 34” will be too long and he’ll pee on it. I suspect you measured his back length along the top? The fleece size is measured from the breastbone in front, along the side to the base if the tail. If you measure him there you should get 30”-31”.
Thank you, Katja

Q: Hi, My dog is broader than normal, kind of like a pug or bulldog (he's actually a cocker spaniel, weird I know), so I'm afraid the chest won't be wide enough for him. Can you tell me how wide the chest is at the front of the sweater at the widest part for the 24" and 26" sizes? Additionally, I don't imagine there is an option to add a zipper on the back so my senior dog can step into it is there? Thanks. Laura

Asked by: Laura - 12/2/2020
A: Hi Laura.
The widest part at the front of the sweater is 9 1/2" on size 24" and 11" on size 26". Between the front legs is 3 1/2" on size 24" and 5" on size 26".
All our fleeces are produced I bulk, so unfortunately we are not able to add a zipper, but maybe you can find a tailor that can help you.
Thank you, Katja

Q: Hi! For a shihtzu what size Colorado Fleece do you recommend? He's 20" long (measured from breastbone to base of tail) and 16" chest circumference. Thank you!

Asked by: Melissa - 1/25/2021
A: Hi Melissa.
Based on your measurements you would need size 20". It sounds like he is very long and slim? I'm wondering is size 18" may be better so he doesn't pee in the sweater. Be aware that the sleeves may be a bit long for him. The Wisconsin Fleece Warmer may be a better fit if his legs are short.
Thank you, Katja
