Q: I have a 66 pound Chesapeake Bay Retriever. How should I measure this to get the right size. She has an ear condition, that gets worse in the cold? Mandi from Kansas says hello!

Asked by: Heather - 12/28/2015
A: Hi Heather
There is a picture on the product page showing how to measure your dog.
You take the measurements around the biggest part of the dogs head right in front of the ears.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: how long is the snood from th face to end at the neck? how far down the neck does it go. will it be long enough to tuck into a coat with shallow neck? I wish you would show a sideview of the snood, so we can see the shoulder and where the snood ends on the neck or body..

Asked by: Susan Brown - 10/5/2016
A: Hi Susan
Thank you for your interest in the Alaska Fleece Snood.
The bigger the size the longer the snood is.
I will add the measurements of the Snoods to the product page now.
I will make sure to take some more pictures that show the length of the snood as well.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: Hello... I am curious to know if you went a size up from the head measurement for your own dogs in the photos to get the more roomy fit?

Asked by: Christine - 10/10/2017
A: Hi Christine,

Thank you for asking about the Alaska Fleece Snood. Katja has a Doberman and knows what it’s like to fit a dog with different dimensions.
We recommend going 1 size (2”) up for the snood, so if your dogs head measures 16” you’ll need size 18”.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Q: Could you tell me if the snood is the same width at both ends as my dogs neck measures slightly bigger than her head? Her neck is 17 inches.

Asked by: Florence - 11/21/2016
A: Hi Florence
The Snood is 2" bigger at the neck end than the head end, so it will accommodate the neck being a bit bigger in circumference than the head.
Thank you,
Katja

Asked by: Magda - 12/31/2019
A: Hi, Magda

Please measure the biggest part of your dogs head as described in the product description and shown in the picture. You will need 1"-2" bigger size than the circumference of the dogs head to make sure it isn't too tight.

Q: Hi there, I have a pitbull and his head measured 20''....does that mean he needs a 22?

Asked by: Frankie - 2/12/2020
A: Hi, Frankie

Yes, I'd go with a size 22 for your pittie, it can be tightened at both ends and you don't want it to be too small.

Thank you, Mia

Q: Do you ship to the United Kingdom? If you do, can you suggest a size for a standard dachshund?

Asked by: Mad about Doxies - 7/5/2020
A: Hi There.
Yes, we ship worldwide, but please be aware that you may endure customs charges when ordering from abroad. When determining the size you need to measure your dogs head circumference at the biggest point, right in front of the ears (image on the product page) and then add 1-2" to the size you pick. This is to ensure that the snood is not too tight. It has drawstrings to adjust the tightness as needed.
Thank you, Katja

Q: For the EDD Alaska fleece snood, what size would you recommend for Doberman pinschers? Thank you!

Asked by: Jennifer - 9/23/2020
A: Hi, Jennifer

Thank you for your interest in the Alaska Fleece Snood.

The size depends entirely on the size of your dog, but my sisters Dobie wears a size 18".

Make sure to measure your dog right in front of the ears to get the precise size.

Q: I have a 4.5 pound Yorkie. She is very small. Are these snoods only for big dogs? I don't know how to measure her to see if they fit. Thank you,

Asked by: Gaby - 11/12/2020
A: Hi Gaby.
You need to measure your dog at the biggest circumference around the head, right in front of the ears. There's an image on the product page showing how to measure. If he head is no smaller than 10" then the smallest size (12") should fit.
Thank you, Katja

Q: Male pit bull , large head - suggested snood size ? Thank you

Asked by: Ree springer - 11/18/2020
A: Hi,

It is hard to tell what size you need without having the measurements of your dog.

You have to measure your dogs head at the biggest point, right in front of the ears, when you have that measurement you go up a size to make it comfortable for your dog to wear it.

Thank you, Mia
