Q: HI, I am looking for a jumpsuit for my Wheaten Terrier mix to protect his underbelly and legs when we go out playing in the snow as he gets covered in snowballs stuck to his fur and this looks like it would do the job nicely however I can't tell from the picture if there is a cut out area on the underbelly of the suit that would allow him to pee while wearing the jumpsuit?. Please advise. Also I am located in Montreal, Canada and would like to know where I could buy this product in Canada? Thank you for your help. All the best. Linda

Asked by: Linda - 1/2/2016
A: Hi Linda
This suit is only available from Euro Dog Designs so you would need to order it from me.
Yes, the suit is designed so the dogs can use the bathroom unhindered.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: Can you use the snow suit with a harness or can you only use the suit with a collar? From the pictures I was not sure if there is an access point for the D-ring on a harness.

Asked by: RICHARD - 12/8/2016
A: Hi Richard
There is a leash opening on the back of the suit so you can attach a leash to a harness worn underneath.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: I'm looking for full coverage warmth like the snowsuit for my two pitbulls. But what is my best option for something that still gives them access to go to the bathroom without taking it off? And do you have any snowsuit type options with feet coverage?

Asked by: Karen - 12/20/2015
A: Hi Karen
The dog can use the bathroom unhindered while wearing the suit as its cut to accommodate this.
It is pretty much impossible to design a suit that has integrated boots as dogs have different length of leg and I think it wouldn't work in real life, though the idea is great.

Katja

Q: This suit without insulation would be perfect for my border collie.. Insulation on a border is enough and they will over heat in Washington state. I need this suit for Ziva for a rain suit when she goes to the barn and like to lay in the rain in the back yard... she is female and I wish someone would make a tail sock to keep there tails clean too. they get so wet and she gets hay allover her tail and brings it in the house.. Can you make this without the insulation and a tail sock that would snap on both sides of the rear end so that you can take it off when they come inside.. that would really be cool.. Let me know before I order anything Thank You Nancy Burrington Washington State... ?

Asked by: Nancy Burrington - 10/16/2016
A: Hi Nancy
Sounds like what you need is the Slush Combat Suit.
It’s basically a rain coat with legs. It’s waterproof without providing any warmth and is made especially for hairy dogs that need to stay dry, clean and snowball free.
Here’s the link:
http://www.eurodogdesigns.com/Hurttaslushcombatsuit
In terms of the tail cover. It would be hard to make a cover that fits all dogs as the tail length and thickness varies a lot from breed to breed.

Katja

Q: I have a Westie and I'm not sure of what size to get. I watched the video on how to measure and her back is 14 - 16", neck 16", chest 21" and front legs 4" (measured inside to the ankle joint). She seems to be in between sizes. Any suggestions?

Asked by: Leslie - 11/6/2016
A: Hi Leslie
It will make a difference is the back length is 14" or 16".
You'll need either size 14L or 16M depending on the back length.
The legs will be a bit long, but you may be able to alter the cuff if needed.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: I have a toy poodle. He weighs 14.4 lbs. I watched your video about measuring for the correct size. I measured his back - 16”. His chest - 18’. His front leg - 5”. I concluded he would be a size 16M. ??????

Asked by: Bar - 11/17/2019
A: Hi Bar.
Size 16M sounds too big for that weight, even a poodle (they tend to have longer backs). Did you measure from the withers? If the measurement is taken too far forward, like at the collar, the suit will be too long. My guess is size 14M would be the one. The chest circumference will vary quite a bit wether he's clipped or in full coat, so please take that into consideration as well. If he's clipped 20" should be enough in the chest (size 14M), if he's in full coat you'll probably need a bigger size like 14L or even 16M if the back length was measured from the withers to the base of the tail. Poodles can be tricky to fit as they are long and slim compared to most other dogs and the coat can vary depending on clip.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: What size do I order for my (14lb.) small poodle??? I watched the video with the measuring instructions. Back 15’. Chest 18”. Front leg 5”. Neck. 11””

Asked by: Barbara S Wagner - 11/18/2019
A: Hi, Barbara

Thank you for your interest in our Dakota Snowsuit.

I would say, for a girl you can go to a size 16M, but for a boy I'd probably go with a 14M.

If it is too long for a boy you risk him peeing in the suit.

Q: I'm about to order three coats....two of my dogs have the same measurements, one is a Mudi, the other a small dalmatian. Measurements are Back 19", Chest 24, Neck 14, front leg 8". Would this be a size 20? My other dog is a small mudi- his back is 14", chest 21, Neck 13 and leg 6"....I'm confused on the size due to the front leg measurement. Is he a 14M? Thanks!

Asked by: Leslie - 11/24/2016

Based on your measurements I agree with the size20M for your bigger dogs but the small one needs size 14L due to the chest measurement.

Yes, I agree with size 22M for your Border. Leg might be slightly long but there is a long cuff on there so you should be able to fold it up.

Based on your measurements I would recommend size 14M if your dog is short haired. If your dog has a long coat or if you want more room in the chest you should choose size 14L.

Asked by: Tracy - 1/10/2017
A: Hi Tracy
I would recommend size 16M for your dog as long as you don't expect him to grow much more in length at this point.
Alternative would be 18M, but I suspect he won't get much longer in the back than he is now.

Q: my dog is a coonhound/beagle mix. He weighs 37 1/2 lbs. the length of his body from neck to tail is 24". What size do I need to order?

Asked by: cheryl - 8/8/2017
A: Hi Cheryl
Did you measure your dog's back length from the withers to the base of the tail, as shown in the video?
24" sounds very long for a 37 1/2 lbs dog. As comparison my 60 lbs Doberman measures 24".
A dog weighing just under 40 lbs would usually measure 18", 20" at the very most if it's long and slim.
We will also need the chest and leg measurement of your dog in order to recommend the best size.
The back length of the dog dictates the size of the suit. If there are more than one size in one back length (like 18) the chest and leg length determines which one to pick.
Thank you,
Katja

Asked by: Jenny - 9/17/2017
A: Thank you for contacting me regarding the Dakota Snow Suit. You are welcome to try the size 12. My only concern would be underneath with him being a boy dog, it may be too long underneath and he may pee on it. If you like to try it on him and see you are welcome to and if it does not fit well you can return the coat for a refund.

Q: Hello, I am hoping to buy this jacket for my 2 Miniature Pinschers. I took their measurements, and they don't quite line up with your size chart for this item. So, Im worried that if I buy the jackets they won't fit right. These are their measurements: Back - 14" Chest 20" Neck - 10" Front Leg - 7" Can you tell me which size to order that would fit them best? Or if there isn't at all that will work for them. Also, if I do order one and it doesn't fit, what is the return policy? Thanks so much! Dna

Asked by: Dana - 9/23/2017
A: Hi Dana,

Thank you for your interest in the Dakota Snow Suit. According to your measurements 14L is what you will need for a comfortable fit. The back measurement is the most important, the chest and neck will snug up nicely.

Our return policy is listed on our website an I have copied the link below.

Q: I have a 70 pound male boxer, what size do u recommend?

Asked by: Dee - 12/7/2017
A: Hi Dee,

Boxers will be around size 20 area, but you will need to measure to be sure. Sounds as if your Male is good size (which may put him closer to a size 24) If you measure between the withers and start of tail it will give you the back length which is going to be most important. Once you have that make sure you have enough room in the chest and that the leg length will be appropriate. If you would like to send me your measurements for a second opinion please do. [email protected] There is also a great video on our website to help with sizing.

Q: Is this suit warmer than the Hurtta Fleece suit? I live in Alberta and it gets very cold (-40c) so I need something that will keep my girl warm and dry, she has very little under belly coverage. Thank you.

Asked by: Laurie - 12/18/2017
A: Hi Laurie
Yes, the Dakota Suit is warmer than the Hurtta Fleece suits. This suit will be ideal for your needs. If you need extra protection you can even layer it with the Hurtta Body Warmer which is thin and great for layering. However the Dakota Suit is like a snow suit for kids and the dogs are usually nice and toasty underneath.

Q: What is the difference between size 14S and 14M in the Hurtta Dakota snowsuit ? What would the shipping cost be to ship this item to Guelph, Ontario, Canada ?

Asked by: JD - 12/18/2017
A: Hello JD,

Thank you for your interest in our Euro Dog's own design Dakota Snow Suit.
The difference between the 14M and 14L is that the chest is 5" bigger in the L, leg is 1.5 ' longer and the neck is 4" bigger.

The Dakota Snow Suit does not come in a 14S (if it did the S would mean it had shorter legs for small dogs)

To figure out shipping costs just place your order and select manual paypal request for payment. The order will give you all your shipping method options and costs.

Thank you,
Anna

Asked by: Razina Ahmed - 2/22/2018
A: Hi Razina,

The lining in this winter coat is meant for warmth. I think it will be way too warm as a summer rain coat. If you are looking for a four legged rain coat for summer use I would recommend the Slush Combat Suit. Very similar to the coat you are looking at here, but with no lining or insulation.

The neck I couldn't fgigure out how to measure her. Question #2 is in regard to warmth. I live in Canada and our winters are very cold. I don't walk my doberman for more than 20 mns in really cold temperatures but still need to go out. will the dakota snow suit be enough for her? I do have an additional ccoat( saddle style ) that I can put on over top. Thanks for the feed back . Looking forward to hear from you.

The suit is good down to 20 celsius below freezing, more than that you should add another layer either underneath or over it.

Q: Hi Katja, I have seen your snowsuits on Amazon and wondered if this is legitimate or if it is better to order from your website? Also, when it comes to the snoods, I have read you say to go 2” larger. My dog’s head measures 11” and his neck is 13”. Would the 14” be too loose since it would be 3” bigger? Thank you

Asked by: Debra - 11/7/2019
A: Hi, Debra

Thank you for your interest in the Dakota Snowsuit and the Alaska Snood.

The snowsuits on Amazon are legitimate, the person selling them on Amazon gets them from us, so you can choose where you want to get them, it's completely up to you :)

3" extra is fine in the snood since it has a drawstring, it's better than it being too tight.

Q: I want to buy one for my American staffordshire terrier her neck is 16 inches chest is 26 inches and she is 22 inches long - what size should I get her?

Asked by: Teri - 11/9/2019
A: Hi Teri
Based on your measurements you need size 22M for your Staffy. The chest will be roomy but that is OK as it allows room to move.
If you measured from the withers to the base of the tail as shown in the measuring video, this is the size. If you measure the back length from the collar to the base of the tail, then you will need a smaller size as it will otherwise be too long.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: What's 35m and 35L mean? Whats the delivery time for Toronto, Canada. Thanks

Asked by: Quana Pappas - 11/11/2019
A: Hi Quana.
35 is the size in cm and M/L indicates which variation in that size it is. L sizes has a bigger chest and longer legs than M sizes. You can find the size chart under the size tab just above the product description. Usually shipping with USPS first class international to Canada is 7-10 days but can vary depending on the time of year.

Q: Hi Katja, I have a Cockapoo and i cant figure out the size to order for the snow suit. Her measurements are: back 44 cm, girth 47 cm, neck 28 cm, leg 16 cm. She weighs 17 pounds. Cali has long fur so i want to keep her dry and no snow balls on her legs when shes out playing. Thanks :)

Asked by: Quana Pappas - 11/11/2019
A: Hi, Quana

Are you sure you have got the measurements correct, it sounds like you might have measured from the collar to the tail, you need to measure from the withers to the tail.

With the measurements you have given us your dog sounds very slim. On the product page, just under the main picture is a play button, that is a video that shows you have to measure correctly.

If you have more questions, please feel free to contact us again.

Thank you, Mia

Q: I have a Vizsla - do you know how these coats fit this breed! My Vizslas measurements are - withers to base of tail is 26 inches, chest is 31 inches and leg measurement is 10 1/2 inches!! I would like to order two coats - the other choice might be a different size. How would the shipping work to Canada ( Kingston, Ontario to be specific ) Thank you!! Lesley

Asked by: Lesley from Canada - 11/12/2019
A: Hi, Lesley

I would say, based you the measurements you have given us, that y our Vizsla would need a size 26M.

Check out the size chart just above the description on the product page. There is also a video just under the main picture where it is described how to measure and how to put the suit on your dog. It is the play button :)

We ship all over the world, so Canada is not a problem. You chose what shipment method you want when ordering, there are a few choices.

We will need your dogs measurements to be able to tell you which size you will need.

This is a video that shows how to measure for the snow suit:

On the product page you can see a size chart, when you have the back length, look a the chart and see if you will need the size in M or L, depending on the size of the chest and neck.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Your dog will fit just fine in the 16M. My German Pincher (pictured) has a 22" in chest and she wears size 16M.

Q: Follow up to your reply on coat choice. This may be a good option-does the toggle at the neck line tighten around the neck? The picture looks as though there is a significant gap around neck area-thats are snow would enter on my pup. He's relatively short(around 14") so the running through deep snow it will enter at the neckline and follow the suits down to the front of chest. It would prevent any snow form entering around the leg area-if they can get accustom to something around their legs-lol. Thanks

Asked by: Karin Koenen - 11/29/2019
A: Hi, Karin

Yes, it does tighten around the neck to prevent the snow from getting into the suit :)

Q: Hi - I’d like some advice on what size to get for my rat terrier mix. Back length is 16, chest is 16, and front legs are 7in. Can you please advise on what would fit her best? Thank you!

Asked by: Bailey - 12/9/2019
A: Hi, Bailey

It sounds like your dog is very slim, are you sure you measured correctly? You need to measure the back length from the withers, not the collar. Usually the chest circumference is bigger than the length of the back.

Did you watch the video that shows how to measure? You can find it on the product page just under the main picture, it is a "play" button.

WE will be more than happy to help when we are sure you have the correct measurements :)

Q: Hello! I am going to order a suite for my puppy, but want to double check the size. Her back is 25, leg 11, chest 25 (she is an Irish Doodle, 6 months). Thank you!

Asked by: Shea - 1/8/2020
A: Hi, Shea

Thank you for your interest in the Dakota Snow Suit.

I'd go with a size 26M for your girl. It might be a little big in the chest, but that will give her room to move, and some room to grow too.

Thank you, Mia

Q: Hi, I am a pound puppy but mom was a lab. My comfortable measurements are: back 25", neck 25", chest 32.5", and my front legs are 9". Should I mostly size for my back, or my chest / neck?

Asked by: KiskaBear - 1/14/2020
A: Hi KiskaBear.
The back length is the main measurement to go by, then the chest, then the leg. If the back length is 25” measured from the withers to the base of the tail, as shown in the measuring video, then you’ll need size 26M. If the back length was measured a bit more forward than the withers, you’ll probably only need size 24M.
Thank you, Katja

Q: video is good for measuring but sizes done address your measurements. e.g. dog measured 24inches...........what does that mean on your size chart......14m, 16m ?????

Asked by: geoff - 1/21/2020
A: Hi, Geoff

The size chart shows that a 24" back length corresponds to a size 24M. If your dog then also fits within the size of the chest, neck and leg lengths, that's the size you should chose.

Q: Can this Dakota Snow Suit be made without the insulation? Just the shell and the liner? We would love to use this for our Silver Lab... (she has no undercoat... and actually looks more like a wiemaraner) while pheasant hunting. As she breaks through grasses, weeds, etc... she gets scratched up... or just raw from all the rubbing. But we worry about the insulation level of the Dakota suit as is... for a dog really working hard. We don't want her to overheat. Any options to customize this at all?

Asked by: Renee Knutson - 11/3/2020
A: Hi, Renee

Thank you for your interest in the Dakota Snow Suit. Sadly we can't customize our products.

We do have the Ohio Fleece suit

https://www.eurodogdesigns.com/Ohio-Fleece-Dog-Suit

and the Alabama Body Suit

https://www.eurodogdesigns.com/alabamabodysuit

if you want something to cover the legs as well as the body, you could then layer a Connecticut Rain Coat if you want it to be water resistant

https://www.eurodogdesigns.com/Connecticut-raincoat

Thank you, Mia

Q: Hello 1 .Could you help me to determine right size of EDD Dakota Snow Suit since I cannot find the size which match all my measurements ( I rounded them all up) Dog: Staffordshire Bull Terrier = pitbull (?:)) Shoulder to Tail : 22 inches Belly : 29 inches Front leg : 8 inches 2. I am from Canada , are there delays in delivery to Canada because of cov-19 ?. Do you have any feedback on that matter from your recent Canadian customers. ? Thank you Regards

Asked by: Basia - 11/16/2020
A: Hi Basia.
Based on your measurements you will need size 22M for your dog. The chest needs to be roomy in order for the dog to have room to move. USPS is a bit slow to Canada at the moment, but if you choose Fedex it should be much faster.

Q: hi, I'm having a little trouble with sizing my poodle. shes 8 months so close to fully grown. her length is 25", leg length 11" but her chest is typical poodle only 25". I know she will likely put on a few more pounds, but I don't see her filling in that much. Can I get you thought's on sizing? thanks!

Asked by: Luke - 11/25/2020
A: Hi Luke.
I take it you have a Standard Poodle with those measurements. Poodles are notoriously long and slim and can be hard to fit. However, I would not worry too much that the chest is roomy as the legs are also long. If she still grows a bit in length which she might, you’ll need size 26M. She will fill out more over the next year or so.

Asked by: Ani - 11/27/2020
A: Hi, Ani

Thank you for your interest in our Dakota Snow Suit. I would go with a size 22M. The back length is the most important one. The fact that it will be a little roomy in the chest is not a problem. You can tighten it at the neck and waist so it doesn't slip around too much.

Q: Hi, I'm looking at the Dakota Snow suit for my whippet and now sure what size to order, as he is skinnier than most breeds. Here are his measurement: Back length - 22, Chest 27, Legs 9, and neck 13. I'm looking at 22M, but not sure if that's correct. Do you have any advice? I'd like to order in time for your Black Friday special. Also wondering about shipping costs to Toronto Canada. Thanks in advance, Linda Dunlop ,

Asked by: Linda - 11/29/2020
A: Hi Linda.
Based on your measurements I wold recommend size 22M for your Whippet. The back measurement is what the size is based on. The neck and waist can be tightened with drawstrings to customise the fit a bit more.
