Q: EDD Ohio Fleece - what is the sizing like compared to your past Equafleece? I have a 28, measured my dog, but kind of in between sizes with the EDD fleece. Many thanks !

Asked by: Fiona - 11/26/2018
A: Hi Fiona
They are sized similarly. If you are in-between sizes, it depends a bit on the shape of the dog. If it has a large chest or a thick neck, I would go up in size. Otherwise I would go down.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: I have a Chinese Crested Chihuahua who weighs 11 lbs. Her neck to tail is 14.5” and chest is 17”. Which size do you recommend? I need it fit snuggly. Thanks!

Asked by: Leah GABRYLUK - 1/3/2019
A: Hi Leah
Is the 14.5" measurement taken along the top of the back from the collar to the base of the tail? If you could measure from the breastbone in front, along the side to the base of the tail, that would give you the size you need. So if your dog measures 16" go with size 16".
Thank you,
Katja

Q: Can she pee with this on?

Asked by: Carol - 1/13/2019
A: Hi Carol
Yes, the dogs can use the bathroom while wearing the suit.
Here on the product page there's an image showing the suit from behind so you can see what it looks like. There is also a video showing how to measure as well as what the suit looks like when on the dog.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: Looking at buying this product for my dog. Back length is 50cm, chest 68cm. What size should I get? Seems she needs 2 totally different sizes (back was measured withers to base of tail & chest circumference just behind front legs).

Asked by: Sarah - 6/21/2019
A: Hi Sarah
The best way to measure for this item is from the breastbone in front, along the side to the base of the tail as show in the measuring video.
As a rule of thumb they need a size 4" (10cm) bigger than Hurtta which is measured the way you describe. So if you get 60cm when you measure the way shown in the video you will need size 60cm/24". The chest will accommodate a bigger chest than the chart says.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: We have a Chinese created that measures a back length of. 16,5” (chest bone to root of the tail) and has a chest of 18”. He weighs 12 lbs and is quite slender, so I don’t know what size to get him?

Asked by: Mira Eriksson - 8/15/2019
A: Hi, Mira

Thank you for your interest in the Ohio Fleece suit.

With a dog that size I'd go with a size 20". It is important to have room for the chest, otherwise the dog can't move properly.

If it doesn't fit right we will of course be more than happy to exchange it for you.

Thank you, Mia

Q: I have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever with alopecia (hair loss). He's got a typical Chessie deep chest -- 35". Will the EDD Ohio Fleece Suit stretch to fit him? He really needs the legs and chest coverage due to hair loss.

Asked by: Erin - 10/14/2019
A: Hi, Erin

I'm sorry to hear about your dog's alopecia, that's too bad.

I think the Ohio Fleece suit will be fine, as you can see from the pictures it fits a Doberman and they have fairly deep chests too.

Just remember to measure the length of your dog from the chest bone, along the side and to the tail.

We also have the Alabama Body Suit you want something less warm to wear around the house.

There are also several options without legs if you just want to protect the body.

Thank you, Mia

Q: Re EDD Ohio Fleece Suit, I am wondering about sizing. My Border collie measures 23 inches chest to rear per your video measurement. A 52cm backontrack fits her well. I want the suit to help her stop itching so coverage over tail/rear is good.. Thanks

Asked by: Angela Sutton - 10/16/2019
A: Hi Angela.
Based on your information I would recommend size 24" in the Ohio Fleece Suit for your dog.

Q: Does the Ohio Fleece suit have a hole for a harness? Planning on using it as a liner for a Hurrta ultimate parka, and my dog requires a harness. Thanks!

Asked by: Rachael Carlson-Simon - 10/18/2019
A: Hi, Rachael

Thank you for your interest in the Ohio Fleece Suit.

The Ohio does not have a hole for a harness, but the harness
can go over the suit and then put the parka over that.

Q: My doberman measures 28"in length and 34" in chest. What size Ohio would I need?

Asked by: David Macomber - 10/30/2019
A: Hi, David

Thank you for your interest in the Ohio Fleece Suit.

Your dog would need a size 28" if your dog is 28" long. Have you measured from the sternum, around the side and to the tail? It is important to get the measurements as correct as possible.

Thank you, Mia

Q: I have a fox hound...he is 24 inches neck to tail...but 31 to 32 around his waist...please advise on size...

Asked by: Laura Lee - 11/9/2019
A: Hi Laura
Wow, that is a chesty boy you have there! I would recommend going up a size to 26" to accommodate the chest. 24" will be too tight, but 26" will fit nicely. Only issue could be that he may pee inside the suit when it's a bit bigger, but you are welcome to try it and see if it will work.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: I have a 14S in the Hurrta Houndtek 100% polyester suit. Do I want a 14 in the fleece also? Thanks

Asked by: Monica - 11/11/2019
A: Hi Monica.
The fleece suit is measured differently than Hurtta. There is a video under the main image showing how to measure. Generally the dogs need a size 4" bigger than Hurtta, so my guess is that you need size 18".

Q: How do I measure for the Ohio Fleece Suit? I have 2 boxers and a 60 pound mixed breed.

Asked by: Hinda - 11/28/2019
A: Hi Hinda.
There’s a video showing how to measure your dog (click on the image with the ‘play’ icon, underneath the main image. It’s akso described in the product description how to measure. You will probably need size 28” but it’s best to measure each dog.

Q: How difficult is this to put on and take off? Thanks!

Asked by: Monica - 1/18/2020
A: Hi Monica.
With the right technique it is not hard to put the suit on and take off. I show how to do so in the measuring video on the product page, just under the main image.
I have also made a short video showing just the on and off part, though it’s with a leg less version, the technique is the same:

Q: Hello! My beagle's chest-to-base of tail measurement is 20 inches, and her chest measures about 22 inches. For a comfy fit, what size do you recommend?

Asked by: Racheal - 9/15/2020
A: Hi, Racheal

If the measurements are correct, I'd go with a size 22" or it will probably be too snug and she'll have problems moving freely.

Since she's a girl the length is not as problematic as it would have been for a boy, she's not as likely to pee in the suit :)

I'd make sure to re-measure, just to be absolutely sure you have the right sizes, and if it does turn out to be the wrong size you are of course welcome to return it as long as it is clean and free of hair.

Thank you, Mia

Q: EDD Ohio Fleece Suit - question: Is it wind resistant? Can the wind blow right through this fleece--like it can with most other fleece?

Asked by: Deborah E Miller - 9/23/2020
A: Hi, Deborah.

Thank you for your interest in the Ohio Fleece Suit.

Our Fleeces are made from thick double layered fleece and is therefore nice and warm, but it is not completely wind resistant. For that you would need something to put over it, like a raincoat.

Q: Hello! I want to buy both the Ohio fleece suit and Dakota winter suit for my dog, Glitter. She's an Am Staff and her measurements are: chest: 33" collar to tail: 21" neck: 20" front leg: 10" I see that the sizing for the two coats is different. What sizes do you suggest I buy in each suit for Glitter? I assume the chest measurement is most important, but I would appreciate you letting me know. Thank you very much!! Kathy & Glitter

Asked by: Kathy - 11/15/2020
A: Hi Kathy.
Yes, the Fleeces are measured from the breastbone in front, along the side to the base of the tail, where the Dakota is Measured along the top of the back from the withers (not the collar) to the base of the tail. Generally dogs need the fleece 4” bigger than the Dakota. The length is the most important measurement, then the chest. There are videos showing how to measure on both product pages. From your measurements it sounds like your dog is very chesty, and based in those measurements you would need 22M in the Dakota and 28M in the Ohio. However it would be a good idea to measure again after watching the videos, and you are welcome to email us the new measurements: [email protected],com.

Q: How does the EDD Ohio Fleece Suit compare in the sizing of the neck. I have a puggle with a lot of excess skin folds around the neck area. Her Equafleece suit is size 18. Other than the neck which was too snug and needed altering it fit perfectly. In the EDD I think she'd be a size 20.

Asked by: Shirley - 11/23/2020
A: Hi Shirley.
The Ohio has a roomy rib neck and therefore it accommodates dogs with a thicker/more hairy neck. So your Pug should be happy in this model.

Asked by: Titus - 11/28/2020
A: Hi Titus.
34” chest will be fine in the 31” suit. If your dog’s Length measurement is 31”, then size 31” should work. My Doberman has a 32” chest and she wears size 28”.

Asked by: K - 12/5/2020

Without the exact measurements it would be a guess, but I think you need size 14". Best way to be sure is to measure from the breastbone in front, along the side to the base of the tail.
