    Padded Harness
This might be one of the best harnesses we have tried. Emma, my 70 pound golden retriever doesn't seem to mind it very much…and she really dislikes harnesses. She will run away when I take them out! I love the handle at the top…easy to grab (when I don't have a leash attached) and control her if she starts to jump. Fits true to size chart.

    The best
Fits my dog absolutely fantastic. Love the sturdy, somewhat stiff construction, which however is still soft and comfortable. Does not shift at all! And it washes extremely well I will get more colors!

    LOVE this Harness!
I have a smaller female golden retriever, this harness is perfect for her! I ordered the Cherry, the color is beautiful! Just like in the picture! The harness looks very professional and I love the padding, it does not rub my dog at all. I originally ordered the wrong size for her, but it was SOOO EASY to exchange for the next size up. The customer service is WONDERFUL!!!! I will never order a harness from anywhere else!

    Best harness I've owned
I recently ordered the Hurtta Padded Harness in raspberry for my medium-sized ACD mix, and we love it. Not only does it look great on her, but its padded straps ease the effects of her occasional pulling. We previously walked on a martingale collar, which would cause her to choke when she pulled sometimes, but now she's walking on the harness with no choking at all. I also love the top handle, the reflective tape and just the construction and style overall. We've tried many other harnesses and this one is my absolute favorite. My dog can be an escape artist with some harnesses, but this one feels secure. We also emailed to be sure about sizing, and the recommendation to order one size larger than you think was a good one. It's a perfect fit. Thanks so much for providing such a great product!

    Very easy to put on!
I have a 7 month old labradoodle who is very energetic. We had another harness which had multiple buckles and straps and was a nightmare to put on a wiggly dog. My padded harness goes on easily and quickly with one buckle. The pup doesn't have time to become impatient and wiggly. He wears it when riding in the car. Padding keeps him comfortable and the harness keeps him safe.

The Hurtta Padded Harness is perfect. It takes no time putting the harness on our dobbie-mix. There is no chaffing and the red (though it looks orange to me) reflective harness helps us to spot her during our evening runs. We've used this harness on our 10 mile runs while she is connected with great satisfaction. We'll be order another harness before the year's end so that we can leave one in the car.

    Comfortable, flexible and visible!
My girl got this harness from taking part and winning her category of Best Of Group in herding. I went with the Raspberry red, since my girl mostly wears pink. I just love it!! It fits nicely, it's waterproof and no stink. The reason I give this item 4 stars is, I did order a size larger, but it barely fits her already, so I'm kind of disappointed about that. Another is the strap for the girth isn't padded and this worries me about chaffing, maybe something Hurtta will think about :). Otherwise, this is a fantastic product, definitely go one size bigger. The visibility is awesome and the waterproof fabric is a wonderful touch!

    Great harness!
This is a great harness- fits my large chested doberman well and seems comfortable for him. For us this fit better than the y-harness. Extremely happy with the product and Katja's customer service! I recommend taking your dog's measurements and checking with her on which size she recommends- she replies to emails very promptly and is very knowledgeable about the products.

    Love this harness!
We have a 9# chihuahua/italian greyhound mix with tracheal collapse. He is a true harness-hater who will run if I have a harness in my hands (but will gladly come if I am holding a collar). He has a 9" neck base and a 15.5" girth. The size 18 padded Hurtta not only fits him perfectly, but he actually likes to wear it! He was even willing to 'down' and take a jump in it when I forgot to remove it in agility class. That earns it the highest recommendation I can give :)

    Dog-nut extraordinaire
I bought the Hurtta padded harness for my Norwegian Buhund after a decade of unsuccessfully trying to make other harnesses fit him without restricting his gait. This harness is absolutely perfect on him--no wonder all the photos of Buhunds in their native Norway show them wearing these harnesses! On top of the fit, the harness is very well made and functional. I love that I can attach it to a long-line when we're out in the wilderness or use it with a traffic lead in town without any discomfort for my dog. The "handle" on the back works really well when I need to guide him through his rehab exercises. The neoprene padding is really nice, but on my dog I'm not sure it makes much difference since he has a double coat and doesn't suffer from chafing anyway. The neoprene does make his hair stand up in ridges after extended wear--maybe a problem for a show dog, but on my guy I don't care. I will recommend this harness to everyone in my breed club and beyond! As always, great service from Eurodog--thanks so much for offering this wonderful product line.

    Questions and Answers

Q: size to order of Hurtta padded harness unsure. Her chest measures 26 inches behind the leg. 28 inches is way to big, and 24 inches too small. What size should I buy?
    Asked by: julie - 11/15/2014
    A: Hi Julie
The chest strap is adjustable and the size indicates the biggest it can be adjusted out to. Usually I would recommend size 28" but as the Special Collar harnesses run small I would recommend size 32".
    Thank you,

Q: I love the look of this collar and have seen it on other Aussies! I have a 9month Aussie who pulls terribly when we walk! Will this harness help me with the pulling and give me more control?
    Asked by: Traci - 9/18/2015
    A: Hi Traci
The Hurtta Harnesses are not made to stop the dog from pulling but rather to take the pressure off the sensitive neck area and move it to the more sturdy shoulder/chest.
I find that it gives a better feeling in the leash when the dog is pulling on a harness rather than on a collar.
My small dog tends to pull less when wearing a harness than a collar. I think most dogs like the feeling better and when the choking feeling is gone they relax and get less frantic.
    Thank you,

Q: Had another question sizes and realized I did not include my email address with my last question. So, here's my previous question again: 1) Do you have the Hurtta padded Harness in the Light Blue (not the Juniper) pictured in the Doberman-Chat site? And additional question: 2) What sizes should I order for my 3 dogs for the Padded harness? My dogs' measurements are: - Chest 25 / Neck 19.5" (in raspberry); - Chest 32 / Neck 20.5" (in raspberry); - Chest 32 / Neck 22" (in blue). I saw guidance about ordering 1 size larger for special colors but concerned that neck size will then be too large. So, should I order one 70 cm and two 80 cm, or one 80 cm and two 90 cm? Thank you!
    Asked by: Eve - 9/15/2014
    A: Hi Eve

The Blue has been discontinued and unfortunatly I can't get any more in the Padded Harness.
    I have the Y-harness still.

In regards to sizes, the colored harnesses run small, and it's actually the neck line, or more precisely the top piece that sits over the back, that is smaller on these harnesses, that cause them to run small.
This is the reason you need to go up a size.

So based on your measurements I would recoomend:
    1) could possibly be OK in size 28"/70cm as the chest is just over the size smaller.
    2) size 35"/90cm
    3) size 35"/90cm

FYI, the Juniper is more of a Teal green than a blue. Colors can be hard to recreate accurately in pictures sometimes.
    Thank you,

Q: My German Shepherd Dog measures about 103cm around the chest .Should I get the juniper padded harness in the 110 or 120? He is pretty furry right now because of winter and may drop a few pounds in the summer with increased activity.
    Asked by: Caryn - 3/19/2018
    A: Hi Caryn,

I think the 110cm (43") would be best knowing he will be slimmer and maybe losing some of his thick coat soon.

Q: Is this harness appropriate for canicross?
Asked by: Anna Dee - 3/31/2018
    A: Hi Anna -
We would recommend a Y-Harness for this activity to keep the shoulders free. The Padded Y, Dazzle or Adventure Harness would be better suited.
