We could not get the right harness for my corgi for several seasons until we found Hurtta Padded Y-Harness. We are so happy with this product. It is very well made and easy to put on.

love these harnesses!
We recently got the updated Y version for one of our dogs and we loved it so much we decided to try this one for our other dog as we thought it might be a better fit on him, and we love this harness just as much! Great style for an active dog, love the padded neoprene and the webbing seems really hefty and durable. Both of our dogs are "odd" shapes and difficult to fit, but both harnesses fit and look great! really so happy with our Hurtta purchases from Euro Dog designs, thank you for great service and a great product!

These harnesses look wonderful on our two boys--one of whom has a long, corded coat. After they'd worn them a few times, I realized the harnesses are comfortable enough a pnd have enough "give" that we can leave them on most of the time. Walks go smoothly as the harnesses give us a fair amount of control even though the boys tend to be tuggy. I highly recommend this harness!

Great harness!
This harness is beautiful, incredibly well made, and fits perfectly. It looks great on our malamute, and so far we have not had any rubbing issues on our Catahoula (his fur is very thin and he has gotten rub spots from even minimal use with other harnesses). We will likely have to add padding to the strap that goes around his rib cage since we use this harness for biking and running, but his fur/skin are particularly susceptible to rub spots, so I do not think this will be a concern for more people. We get lots of compliments on the harnesses and have had numerous people ask where we got them. You will not be disappointed!

Questions and Answers

Q: How exactly should I measure my dog for a harness?
Asked by: Cindy - 12/25/2013
A: Hi Cindy
You want to measure your dog around the biggest part of the chest, right behind the front legs.
Then pick a size that is close to but bigger than your dogs measurement.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: What size padded y harness(red) should I order for 4 mo old border collie pup measuring 12" neck & 21.5" chest?
Asked by: KA - 6/14/2014
A: Hello KA
If you want a harness that fits perfectly right now, I would recommend size 24".
If you want one your pup can grow in a bit, size 28" would be the one to go with.

Katja

Q: How does this harness get put on the dog? Is it a step-in where the leg has to be picked up, or, is it an over the head? Thank you!
Asked by: Susan - 4/7/2015
A: Hi Susan
It's put on the dog by putting over the head and then lifting one front leg through, then snapping the buckle closed around the chest.
The Padded Harness is a bit different as it's just pulled over the head and then snapped closed around the chest. No touching the legs.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: Does the red run similar in size to the black?
Asked by: Karla - 1/5/2015
A: Hi Karla
All the Y-harnesses should run similar in size.
It's just the Special color Padded Harnesses that run small.

Katja

Q: Hello, I am wondering about the right size for my golden retriever, the chest is 78 cm and neckline 55, is the 32" the right size? thank you very much.
Asked by: Tresa di fiore - 11/11/2015
A: Hi Teresa
I would recommend size 35” for your Golden Retriever to ensure enough room for the neck.
It can be adjusted in at the chest to fit your dog.
Thank you,
Katja

Q: I have a deep chested Weimaraner with a skinny neck. his chest is about 30" and his lower neck is about 22". do you think the size 32 would be way too big in the neck?
Asked by: Lisa - 9/24/2016
A: Hi Lisa
The neckline on the harnesses sit quite low to avoid pressure on the neck so it will not be a problem for you Weim. Size 32" is the size you need.
Thank you,
Katja
