Perfect fitting rain coat from Hurtta. Keep your dog dry, clean, and happy with the Torrent Coat, and save cleaning time at home. Re-closeable opening on the back to feed a leash through to a harness (on sizes 12"-35"). Integrated harness on the two smallest sizes (8" and 10"). It also has a button that buttons underneath the tail (like the Extreme Warmer winter coat) to keep the coats back-end secured even in really windy weather. Elasticated hind leg straps ensures that the coat stays in position on even the most active dogs. Waterproof and breathable shell made from Houndtex® material. Thin elastic lining and no insulation. 3M reflectors for added safety and visibility. Mashine washable. Suitable for any shape of dog like Border Collie, Poodle, Havanese, and Golden Retriever, Mastiff, Rat Terrier etc.

To determine what size your dog needs, measure the back length from withers to base of tail like shown in the video below. The back length is the most important measurement as the neck and chest are both very adjustable.

Please note that these coats are not indestructible. They are made from technical lightweight materials to ensure comfortable fit and freedom of movement. They are not made from rip-stop material. The bungee cord in the neckline is not intended to hook a leash to. It will not hold up to the pressure of a dog pulling.

    Lightweight, Raincoat for Dogs!
I purchased this for my dog to go on walks and hikes for long periods at a time when its raining out. It works beautifully and fits great. Keeps my pup dry except for her feet and her nose, and love that it is reflective and being able to attach harness through the opening in the back.

    Excellent, except...
I have two of these coats. They fit well, keep the dogs clean and dry and are easy to put on and off. However, both of them have had problems with the elastic cord at the throat. One on coat the covered elastic shredded. On the other the elastic came unstitched at the front of the garment so I had to open the seam, thread it back through and sew it in place. What a nuisance. Otherwise, excellent coats.

    Hurtta Torrent Coat
Love this rain coat… have tried many others and this one covers more of the dog without being restrictive. My Westie is small and measures in between sizes no matter what I am buying… the size 14 in this coat allowed me to make adjustments to fit him. The leg elastics do not bother him and keep the coat from being blown up and off the body as other coats have done. I would highly recommend this product… well worth the price!

    Hurtta Torrent Coat
I love the Hurtta Torrent coats!! I have three standard poodles which took sizes 20, 22 and 26 in the coats. The girls are wearing the cherry pink and my big boy the raven. They look wonderful in their coats and the extra length for the neck nicely covers their neck hair and even covers their ears a bit! The coats have attractive contrasting details on the strap that secures the coat and the elastic straps, that go around their back legs, do a good job holding the coat in place. I really like the ability to snap the back panel beneath the tail when we're out walking on windy days. My dogs stand willingly when I put their coats on, in part, I'm convinced, because they are comfortable and they know they look great!! Katja has been an absolute pleasure to work with! She helped me decide what to choose for their rain coats and helped me with the sizing.

    Hurtta Torrent Coat
I live with two border collies. They are both about 40 pounds and very thin. It's hard to find a coat that fits because they will either be too loose on the chest or too short in the back. I got them the Hurtta Torrent coats in raven and cherry, size 22". They can be adjusted to fit their thin bodies, and they are long enough to get enough coverage. Unlike other raincoats, these cover the chest and belly, keeping them dry and warm. And the most important part is that they are comfortable and stay in place so they can play, hike, and work.

    Definitely waterproof!
I purchased 2 coats for my dogs daily walks. It's been great for the short walks, but it was put to the test this fall at the coast. It was pouring rain and even hailed during our 2 hour walk. When we got back inside, I was surprised the dogs were dry under the coat; drier than I was! I was also impressed that it continued to keep them dry over the 3 days we were there, in the rain, jacket never fully dried; it did a better job than my waterproof jacket. The only downside for my furry dogs (Shelties) is that their fur gets tangled up in the elastic straps so I can't use them. Lastly, the dogs don't seem to mind them (they're not super happy, but they move freely).

    Questions and Answers

Q: 1) Is the buckle on the back of the jacket adjustable? 2) What material is the lining closest to the dog's body made of? Is it fleece or something else? Thank you.
    Asked by: Jasper - 10/27/2015
    A: Hi Jasper
Yes, the chest flap of the coat is very adjustable with the straps that go up around the dogs chest and closes with a buckle on the back.
The lining of the Torrent Coat it’s a netting material.

    Asked by: sanja - 10/2/2014
    A: Hi Sanja
The flaps are longer than the back length to allow the dogs legs to move.
You can see more in the measuring video.
