    Description

The brand new Hurtta Summit Coat is the new and improved version of the best selling Hurtta Winter Coat. This could be the best fitting winter dog coat on the market. The same great quality as the old version but with new features like, a neck cover for added coverage, new design of the front leg holes for added protection. The re-closeable opening on the back to feed a leash through to a harness (on sizes 12"-35"). Integrated harness on the two smallest sizes (8" and 10"). Another great feature is the option to adjust the back length of the coat. The drawstring on the back makes it possible to adjust it to fit your dog perfectly, even if your dog is in between sizes. As always made from the Waterproof and breathable Houndtex material with soft fleece lining and thick insulating layer to keep your dog warm and happy on cold winter walks. Super easy to put on and take off. Just slip it over your dogs head, bring the chest flap between the front legs and snap closed on the back with the plastic buckle. Elasticated hind leg straps ensures the coat stays in place on even very active dogs. 3M reflectors for added safety and visibility. Machine washable. Very suitable for both big chested dogs like Doberman, Boxer, Greyhound, Pit Bull etc, as well as slim dogs like Border Collies, Papillon, Yorkshire Terrier etc. and any other breed of dog, due to the great adjustability.
Available in Raven (Black) and Cherry (bright Pink, not Red) in 13 sizes (8"-35") fitting all sizes of dogs from the tiniest Chihuahua to the biggest Great Dane.
To determine what size your dog needs, measure your dogs back length from withers to base of tail as shown in the video below. The back length is the most important measurement as both the neck and chest are very adjustable.

Please note, these coats are not indestructible. They are made from technical lightweight materials to ensure comfortable fit and freedom of movement. They are not made from rip-stop material. The bungie cord in the neckline is not intended to hook a leash to. It will not hold up to the pressure of a dog pulling.

    Amazing Parka
Purchased my first parka for my new adult boxer 4 months ago. The comfort and quality of this parka is amazing! The parka is easy to get on her and my boxer doesn't resist wearing it. She doesn't display any resistance and has worn it many times and for periods of an hour or two. They have excellent customer service and superb customer satisfaction. I highly recommend Euro Dog Designs products and store!

    Business Owner
We live at 9,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies, and endure some of the most vicious weather that North America has to offer. I bought this coat for my McNab Cattle Dog. She could not endure the conditions outside for more that about 10 minutes when the temps dropped to 15 below, and the wind was roaring at 50 - 75 MPH. This coat keeps her very warm, and allows for a good range of motion when navigating rock formations, and deep drifts. The only problem I see is that the elastic straps at the rear meant to keep the tail-end covered are poorly placed. When relieving herself it is inevitable that the straps become soaked and then freeze. To solve this, I simply place the straps around the outside of her legs, rather than the inside. Other than that minor difficulty I have to give this coat 5 stars for quality of design, construction, and adjustable fit. I would highly recommend this product to anyone seeking to provide their pet with a very warm, comfortable, high quality product.

    Awesome jacket!
This parka is great, we just love it! It's very easy to get on and keeps our pup warm. If I could change one thing it would be the straps for the back legs. On the Hurtta raincoat they are further apart. I wish they were the same distance on the parka. With them being so close I have to take the straps off when she goes potty, otherwise they will get soiled. Overall it's a great parka and I'm happy with the product.

Great Winter Coat for Small Dog!
I purchased this for my dog who is ~10lbs and it is great. Fits very nice, not too big but still warm and covers sensitive areas of her. Also love that it is reflective and has an opening on the back for your leash to connect to the harness!

    Amazing Coat
This coat is amazing. It is not big and bulky but you know it is working because when you take it off you can still feel the heat on the dog when you pet him. I would recommend this coat to everyone that has to deal with cold winters.

    Great coats
My doxies love their coats. I got a red one and a black one, and people on the street always say how dapper my boys look. Keeps their big chest dry and is cozy warm too! Also, this company is very easy to work with -- I believe they really want to please the owner and the dog!

    Excellent winter coat
I have been using this coat for about 4 weeks now and found it to be excellent. It is easy and quick to put, just one buckle around the middle and two back leg straps. It doesn't move around no matter how how much they shake and keeps him very warm and dry.

    Summit Parka
This parka was exactly what I've been looking for. I've had a difficult time finding something that fits my dogs' barrel chest, skinny waist and bare belly that also had ample chest coverage. The adjustability of the parka worked perfectly. The easy on/off and thigh coverage was an added bonus. The quality of the product is great as well. With the aide of some booties my dogs can now enjoy walks on the cold Wisconsin winter days. I also had a wonderful time working with Katja. Her videos and customer service were fantastic!

Q: Which coat is warmer, the ultimate winter coat of the summit parka? Which would you recommend as the best coat?
    Asked by: Susan - 11/21/2014
    A: Hi Susan
Thank you very much for your question about the Hurtta coats.
The Ultimate Warmer is a bit warmer than the Summit Parka, mostly due to added overage.
Which one that is best depends on your needs and the shape of your dog.
    Thank you,
    Katja

    Asked by: Michelle - 11/19/2014
    A: Hi Michelle
Based on your measurements I would recommend size 26".
I currently have Cherry in stock in size 26". Raven will arrive beginning of next week.
I personally think it's one of the best dog coats on the market. It's a new and improved version of the best selling Hurtta Winter Coat.

Q: MY Buttercup is a four year old mix (25% Boxer, 25% German Short Haired Pointer, 25% Sharpai (must be totally recessive) and 25% mutt). Short fur, no undercoat. It's tough to get her to stand for measuring & I live alone, but I think I got 21" from withers to base of tail and 28" around the chest at the legs, altho it's more like 30" an inch or two behind that. She weights just under 49#, but round it up to be safe. Should I be looking at the size 22 of the Summit Parka for her? Thank you, pat----
Asked by: Patrick Sklenar - 11/26/2014
    A: Hi Pat
Based on your information I'm inclined to say size 20" as that is what a 50 lbs dog, especially Boxer and Pointer would wear. However if your dog is longer backed than a Boxer then I'd say 22". Chest suggests size 22" and as the back length is adjustable you might be better off with bigger rather than smaller.
    Thank you,
    Katja

Q: Hi, I am looking to get this coat for my 58lb petite weimaraner. I measured her this morning, she looks about 24" shoulders to tail base, 30" chest. Would you suggest the 24# or the 26"? When I get home I will measure again to make sure.
    Asked by: Stephanie - 12/3/2014
    A: Hi Stephanie
Based on your measurements I would recommend size 24".
However her weight indicates size 22". Is she fairly long and lean? I can tell she's chesty but the rest of her? She could go either way depending on her build.
    Thank you,
    Katja

Q: I have a female hound mix (redtick coonhound mix). Length is between 19-20 inches. Chest measures 26 inches and neck is 17 inches. What size should I get in the Hurtta parka or coat? For comparison, she wears a Large squall jacket from Lands End and it fits well. Thanks!
    Asked by: Brenda - 1/3/2015
    A: Hi Brenda
Based on your measurements I would recommend size 20" for your Hound.

Q: How would one use a harness with a coat such as this one? My dog has a sensitive neck, so I don't like to hook the leash to her collar. I always use a harness, or coats with a built in harness. Do you have anything like that?
    Asked by: SM - 1/11/2015
    A: Hi SM
There is an opening on the back of this product to attach a leash to a harness.
If you watch the measuring video I show this.
The Ultimate Warmer coat also has this feature.
    Thank you,
    Katja
