    Great harness
Love this harness. My dog pulls on leash a lot and tends to lunge at other dogs so the handle on the harness really helps. Also, it's great that this harness doesn't slide left-right when walking which almost all other harnesses do, this one stays centered.

    Uncertain About Ordering On-Line
I needed to buy to sturdy harnesses for my arm-pulling dogs that make walking a major workout. I purchased two Hurtta Active Harnesses for my two Cavalier King Charles Cavaliers. One is 7 months old and the other is 16 months old. I was uncertain how the harnesses would fit on the dogs, but proceeded with the purchases, based on your return policy. I had been using a different manufacturer's harness but was not totally pleased with it and needed to replace it as the clip was broken. I ordered two 18-24" harnesses and found one was a wee bit big on the pup and the other fit the older dog very well. Keeping both as the pup is still growing. Like how the harnesses provide comfort and security while walking the fur babies. Very satisfied.

    Great for Nosework
This harness has been great for my Boxer and Nosework! It's hard to find harnesses that fit well due to their big chest. This harness has all the adjustment options in the right places. Hurtta never disappoints :)

    Questions and Answers

Q: I have a lean female border collie that weighs 30.7 lbs and her chest is 24". She has a Hurtta padded harness size 28, that fits perfect. She's right on the cusp for sizing with this harness. Would you recommend the 18"-24" or 24" - 32" ?
    Asked by: Heidi - 6/18/2015
    A: Hi Heidi
If the size 28” fits perfectly, then I would recommend size 24”-32”.
If you prefer you are more than welcome to try both and send the one back that doesn’t fit for a refund.
    Thank you,
    Katja

Q: Hi Katja, Are there two connections on the back of this harness for leash attachment - it appears there is some loop in the back and think I'm seeing a ring on top?
Asked by: Jan Schultz - 4/24/2015
    A: Hi Jan
There is a handle on the back to grab for close control and then there is a triangular 'ring' that you attach the leash to.
    Thank you,
    Katja

Q: My dog's chest measurement is 24" - she is small but stocky. Which size would be best for her, the 18-24" or the 24-32"?
    Asked by: Lynda - 3/23/2015
    A: Hi Lynda
And does she have a thick neck and front or is she slim?
What kind of dog is it.
My guess would be that the 18"-24" would be fine as I know she weighs approx 25lbs.
    Thank you,
    Katja

Q: I have a 16 month old male Boxer that weights about 64 pounds. His neck is 18", girth is 30". He's very lean and fit, but will probably fill out a bit more. Not sure on sizing. Can you make a recommendation for me?
    Asked by: Flyingwhiteboxers - 5/8/2015
    A: Hi there
As he's 16 months old I don't think he'll get a huge amount bigger, though he'll fill out a bit. He should be able to fit the size 24"-32". The next size up will be too big now and he may not grow into it.
    Thank you,
    Katja

Q: I have a smaller border collie/ sheperd - she weighs 27 lbs. Her chest with an extra finger is 24" Her neck is with an extra finger is 17" Her waist is with an extra finger is 19" Should I buy the 18-24 or 24-32? Thank you for your time.
    Asked by: Rachel - 11/19/2015
    A: Hi Rachel
That is a very good question. My German Pinscher has size 18”-24” and it’s adjusted almost all the way out. She’s 22 lbs and her chest is 22”, neck 17” (at the very base), so you may be better off with a size bigger, 24”-32”.
You may be OK with size 18”-24” adjusted all the way out, it’s hard to say.
If you want, you are welcome to order one of each and return the one you don’t want to keep for a refund.
    Thank you,
    Katja

Q: I have a puppy who's chest is currently 28in but he's only 6 months old.(he's currently about 45lbs but can end up anywhere from 60-90lbs as he's a mix) Do you think i should go up a size?
    Asked by: Kayli - 8/26/2016
    A: Dear Kayli,

Thank you for your interest in the Hurtta Active Harness. Your puppy has some growing yet to do so what I suggest is if you are walking him now to purchase a harness that can be tightened up to the maximum and let it out as the puppy grows.

With the Active Harness you can adjust in the chest and neckline. With the puppy being 28” in the chest now I would suggest the 24-32” size and this will support his weight. Most large breed dogs continue to grow and bulk up until age 3 so this harness will be fine.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Q: Hello - I was wondering if you have any plans to get the Sand-colored Hurtta Active Harness in stock. I like the design and am looking at getting two of them, but would be most interested in their newest color. Also, do you happen to know if they will be coming out with a matching lead in that color? Thank you! Chad
Asked by: Chad Sell - 2/21/2017
    A: Hi Chad
Yes, I will be stocking the Sand coloured Active harness as soon as it's available. I am currently waiting to hear back from my supplier when it will be available. I will send out a newsletter when the new Spring items are available, so make sure you are signed up.
I have not heard that they are making a matching leash at this point.
    Thank you,
    Katja

Q: Hi there! I'm wondering what type of metal is used for the metalk hardware on your harnesses? I'm looking for something stainless or brass to hold up better in fresh and salt waters. Thanks!
    Asked by: Heather - 9/18/2017
    A: Hi Heather.
The Hurtta hardware is made up of a mixture of metals to ensure the best durability. The leash ring on the Active Harness has just been changed to an even more durable and hard wearing option.
    Thank you,
    Katja
